Mobile thermal imagers will appear at Vitebsk train stations
Another meeting of the regional headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus and protecting the population from infection was held today at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, inquired whether there were enough protective equipment in the city. Yesterday, a meeting was held with the management of all city pharmacies, and issues were worked out with them to avoid a shortage of masks. The Vitebsk Open Joint Stock Company "Znamya Industrializatsii" has started sewing, and two more enterprises will be involved. "Every pharmacy should have a minimum stock of masks for a week. Based on these figures, we need to determine whether manufacturers are ready for such volumes, and whether it is necessary to involve more enterprises. We need to work with a reserve in this direction," the head of the region noted.
Two mobile thermal imagers have arrived in Vitebsk. For now, they will be used at the railway and bus stations to detect people with fever upon arrival of transport. Contactless thermometers will be delivered to polyclinics in the near future. Also, 120 beds with the possibility of connecting ventilators will be organized in medical institutions in the city.
The Deputy Head of the Main Department of Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Kaspirovich, reported that an increase in acute respiratory infections (ARIs) is observed in the Vitebsk region - by 2% in the last day. In the regional center, five healthcare facilities have been repurposed for patients. "In total, there are almost 11.2 thousand beds in healthcare facilities in the region. About 1.8 thousand are intended for people with ARIs," said Nikolai Kaspirovich. If necessary, bed spaces will be repurposed.
The head of the region added that, understanding the dynamics of the problem's development in the world, we must be prepared for any situation. "We need to build a system in each district, in case of widespread dissemination - which institutions we will repurpose," concluded Nikolai Sherstnev.
