Vitebsk honored the region's best livestock breeders
The ceremonial meeting, which brings together 150 front-rank workers, is held for the second consecutive year at the suggestion of the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. The main goal is to thank people, stimulate and motivate teams to solve new tasks. Today, 14 thousand people are employed in livestock breeding in the Vitebsk region. Thanks to their labor, over 714 thousand tons of milk and more than 236 thousand tons of meat were produced over the year.
The Deputy Chairman of the regional executive committee, Boris Efremov, noted that due to livestock breeding, the production of agricultural products was increased last year to 100.6% compared to 2017. Despite the introduction of new technologies, the work of livestock breeders remains difficult, and their work affects the workload of processing enterprises.
The sale of livestock products is the main source of income for farms, and it affects both the timely payment of wages and the возможности to invest own funds in innovative projects, update the machine and tractor fleet, and timely purchase mineral fertilizers and fuel and lubricants.
Boris Efremov conveyed words of gratitude from the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, to the front-rank workers. He wished everyone good health and new labor achievements. He also assured that the authorities would do everything possible to ensure that the lives and working conditions of livestock breeders improve every year.
