In Vitebsk, public organizations held a community cleanup in the Vitsba floodplain
The decision to organize a volunteer work day for the improvement of territories and tidying up the land was made on April 5 at the regional coordination council of public associations and political parties.
– All public organizations enthusiastically embraced this idea and came to the volunteer work day in high spirits. We will also participate in the republican one on April 20, – said the chairman of the coordination council, chairman of the regional organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of War Veterans of Afghanistan" Valeryan Matskevich.
Internationalist soldiers, representatives of the BRSM, the Peace Fund, "Belaya Rus", the Belarusian Women's Union, veterans, and members of the LDPB participated in the volunteer work day on the Vitba.
– We recently joined the coordination council of public associations and political parties. We strive to actively participate in landscaping. On March 23, we cleared 2 km of road along Sportivnaya Street in the Pervomaysky District of Vitebsk. In addition, we tidied up the monument to Vitebsk underground fighters near the Smolensk Market. All our events are dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, – said the chairman of the regional organization of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Igor Teplyakov.
Landscaping efforts were not limited to this location on this day. Members of the Officers' Union and paratroopers worked on the territory of the M. Shmyrev Museum, while another part of the Vitba embankment was cleaned by "Zelenchoz". On April 20, all of Belarus will participate in a republican subbotnik (volunteer work day) to tidy up the land.
