Winners of the regional programming rating have been determined in Vitebsk
The competition was held at the regional palace of children and youth. As explained by Tatyana Shapovalova, a methodologist from the technical creativity department, to reach the finals, students had to successfully overcome the two previous stages of the rating, becoming winners and prize-winners. In total, more than a hundred young programmers aged 8 to 17 demonstrated their skills and abilities in several nominations. But only 37 participants were given the opportunity to compete for the main awards.
Participants from different regions of the Vitebsk region did not know in advance what task awaited them in the final stage of the intellectual competition. The finalists were asked to develop a quiz on the theme of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, create the main game interface, and present it within a few hours.
In the "Creation of projects using Web technologies" nomination, the leaders in their age categories were Nikita Toforov (Palace of Children and Youth of Novopolotsk), Gleb Zhelnersky (Secondary School No. 35 of Vitebsk), Viktor Ivanov (Secondary School No. 44 of Vitebsk). "Development of projects using game engines" brought first place to Mikhail Ryzhkov (regional palace of children and youth). For "Creation of projects in high-level programming languages," diplomas of the I degree from the main department for education of the regional executive committee were awarded to Artyom Sinyak (Oktyabrskaya Secondary School of Vitebsk District named after I. Sobolev) and Alexander Ivanov (Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 5 named after I. Ludnikov). And in the "Programming in Scratch" nomination, first places were taken by Gleb Tolstov (Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 1 named after J. Alfyorov), Yaroslav Gubsky (Secondary School No. 2 of Polotsk), and Anastasia Myshko (Secondary School No. 8 of Polotsk).
In addition to students from Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk, the winners included participants from Orsha, Dokshitsy, as well as from the Beshenkovichi, Gluboksky, and Miory districts. It is possible that the competition will help someone decide on their future profession. Furthermore, the event is designed to popularize and develop the network of interest-based associations related to programming in our region.
