A specialized weightlifting hall has opened in Vitebsk

This has become a wonderful gift for weightlifters. The complex includes warm-up and gym halls, equipped with modern equipment. All this was appreciated by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, who took part in the opening ceremony of the sports facility. As is known, the head of the region is involved in this sport himself: at the recent sports and tourism rally of public administration employees, he won in bench press, lifting a 160-kilogram projectile. Nikolai Nikolaevich gladly visited the training hall, which allows for training camps at the national team level, and communicated with athletes and weightlifting enthusiasts of all ages.

The high level of the training base was confirmed by Belarusian Olympians present at the opening: the current triumphator – silver medalist of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Vadim Streltsov, and the bronze medalist of the London Olympic Games, a representative of the Vitebsk region, Marina Shkermanova. Weightlifting in Belarus is gaining momentum, as demonstrated by the achievements of our athletes. The specialized hall in Vitebsk will contribute to new victories and records. The set of barbells presented to the new facility by the Republican Weightlifting Federation will also help.
