A monument to Leonid Filippenko, honorary citizen of the city, has been unveiled in Vitebsk

On June 26, a monument to Hero of the Soviet Union, participant of the Great Patriotic War, and honorary citizen of the city Leonid Filippenko was unveiled in Vitebsk.

The monument is installed on L. Filippenko's grave at the Kopty cemetery near Vitebsk.

Representatives of the local authorities, Leonid Filippenko's daughter Svetlana Garanicheva, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, employees of OJSC "KIM", where the veteran worked, and representatives of the public took part in the solemn ceremony of the memorial's unveiling.

The authors of the monument are Vitebsk sculptors Alexander Gvozdikov and Ivan Kazak.
