Vitebsk celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the ambulance service
The material and personnel support of the service is centralized, which generally improves the quality and accessibility of care for the population and the ability to respond to emergencies.
Currently, 66 teams (paramedic, pediatric, intensive care, as well as psychiatric and resuscitation) operate around the clock at the Vitebsk Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care (VROCEMC). The rapid response service's fleet is constantly being updated as part of a phased re-equipment with transport and special equipment, and currently consists of 80 vehicles. After all, modern equipment and reliable, fast transport are the foundation of successful work for emergency medical personnel.
There are special requirements for the professionalism of doctors, paramedics, and drivers who work in emergency services, as they are always at the forefront of healthcare, where the most complex and life-threatening situations arise, and decisions must be made super-fast, acting decisively and competently.
In 2021, emergency teams responded to 254,564 calls.
On the day of celebration, November 4, the best representatives of this humane and noble profession heard congratulations and words of gratitude addressed to them, and received well-deserved awards for their selfless performance of their official duties.
The President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich, read out a congratulatory address from the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko:
“Dear friends! I sincerely congratulate you on the centenary of the Vitebsk Regional Ambulance Service. The century-long history of your institution bears the names of many worthy professionals who dedicated themselves to the creation and development of emergency medical services in the region. Today, it meets all modern standards and allows tens of thousands of lives to be saved annually for people in critical life situations. I am convinced that, relying on the traditions laid down by several generations of predecessors, you will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that emergency care remains as effective and high-quality as possible. May the experience and knowledge of your employees become a strong platform for nurturing a worthy young generation. On this festive day, I wish you and your families health, happiness, peace, and well-being.”
Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich noted:
– The most important thing is to be healthy. Because you often don't have time to think about your own health, you need to take care of patients, of people who find themselves in emergency situations and cannot help themselves. I wish you patience, wisdom, and may well-being and comfort always reign in your home. Despite the challenges that surround us today, you must clearly do your job and approach your work with high professionalism. I believe in you, in saving people's lives. Happy holiday!
