Vitebsk celebrated the 105th anniversary of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus
In the lobby of PSU, internal troops employees presented an exhibition of weapons and special equipment, and one could test their skills in shooting using an interactive shooting range.
The chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, addressed the heroes of the occasion with a welcoming speech. He noted that throughout the century-long history, soldiers and officers of law and order have been a reliable shield and sword of the state, capable of putting up a reliable barrier against any manifestations of lawlessness.
- The internal troops, created at the dawn of Soviet power, have come a long way, the head of the region emphasized. - You have many golden pages to your credit, inscribed in the history of the formation and development of service and combat activities. Today, this police unit rightfully is one of the key links in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, possesses high personnel and technical potential, and serious operational capabilities. Police officers are empowered to act on behalf of the state. That is precisely why the measure of your responsibility today is so profound and the requirements for the results of your service are so serious. You must respond promptly to the new challenges of the modern world (terrorism, drug addiction, human trafficking, mismanagement, and greed). Ensuring the peace of citizens and preventing offenses is a difficult but achievable task. And you prove this daily. The past and present of the police are convincing in this. We have repeatedly been convinced of your professionalism during events held in the republic and the region with the participation of the country's top officials, during the celebration of international, republican, and regional festivals, and sports competitions of the highest level. There is no doubt that the words Duty, Honor, and Fatherland are a guide for everyone who has served and is serving in the internal troops, defining your deeds and actions.
Alexander Subbotin also wished the internal troops less work.

Colonel Alexei Kulik, commander of military unit 5524, expressed words of gratitude to the veterans who demonstrated high professionalism and personal courage in peacetime and during the years of military hardship. He also emphasized that over its more than a century-long history, the internal troops have become a powerful military formation, acting as a guarantor of peaceful and quiet life in Belarus.
Participants of the festive event honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence. Then, as is customary on a festive day, employees of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded badges of distinction, early promotions, honorary diplomas, and letters of commendation.
