In Vitebsk, the first regional forum 'The Future is in the Hands of the Young' brought together about 200 participants
On the basis of the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education, the regional youth forum "The Future is in the Hands of the Young" was held for the first time. Its participants included about 200 educators, schoolchildren, and representatives of educational institutions not only from Vitebsk but also from the region's districts.
The Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education acted as the organizer of the event. Valentina Pikulik, Head of the Center for Preschool, General Secondary, Special Education, and Expert Activities, announced the main objectives of the event:
– First and foremost, it is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, which is one of the goals of the National Strategy for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Belarus.
The debut forum brought together young educators, deputy principals for educational work, and heads of civil-patriotic education from across the northern region to fully familiarize them with the opportunities of specialized education, as well as to demonstrate that Vitebsk region has everything to properly guide schoolchildren towards choosing their profession and, in the future, to employ young specialists who have established themselves in it. The breadth of work in this direction could be seen during the presentations of specialized classes – agricultural, pedagogical, sports-pedagogical, and engineering.
The military-patriotic direction in school work was also not overlooked. For example, the emergency rescue vector was represented by secondary school No. 44 in Vitebsk, which hosts the "Rescuer" military-patriotic club of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The military-patriotic direction is also represented by the "Gvardiya" club, established at Vitebsk secondary school No. 45 named after Vasily Margelov. "Gvardiya" closely collaborates with the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade. The young patriots call themselves "Margelovites" and are proud of their connection to the legendary founding father of the Airborne Forces.
The educator herself watched the presentation of the pedagogical class of Vitebsk gymnasium No. 5 with a special feeling.
– The core message of their presentation is in continuity andsurroundings. So, current schoolchildren in pedagogical classes are taught by mentors who themselves studied at this very school and along the same lines not so long ago," shared Valentina Pikulik.
In addition to the business cards of specialized classes, the event featured an exhibition and interactive platforms organized by employees of the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth. It is planned that the regional forum "The Future is in the Hands of the Young" will become traditional.
