A young child and a schoolgirl have been seriously injured in Vitebsk as a result of ice falling from the roofs of houses, investigator-forensic expert of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office Vladimir Baidanov told a BELTA correspondent. Both incidents occurred on the same day last weekend. Due to ice falling from the roof of a residential building on Proletarskaya Street, a five-year-old boy suffered a comminuted skull fracture and a brain contusion. The toddler was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital with severe injuries. In a similar situation that occurred on Gorky Street, a girl born in 1994 was also seriously injured: a tenth-grader received a chop wound to the parietal-occipital region of the head and is also in the hospital. The Pervomaisky District Prosecutor's Office of Vitebsk is conducting investigations into these incidents. -0-
