Vitebsk summed up the results of the work of the regional organization of trade unions of state institution employees
– The regional organization of trade unions of state institution employees is one of the best in the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions, showing high results in cultural and mass work, patriotic education of youth, and actively participating in sports and mass work, competitions, and rallies. During the reporting period, 74 new primary trade union organizations were created. International work is also one of its areas of activity. The trade union actively cooperates with Russian regions, – noted the Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions, Sergey Potapenko.
Opening the reporting and election conference, the Chairman of the regional organization of trade unions of state institution employees, Elena Nefedova, emphasized that the summing up of joint work is taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of the Presidency, and the Year of Quality.
– And today we are in an active stage of the election campaign for the President of Belarus. The leaders of our district organizations and primary organizations of the city of Vitebsk, specialists of the regional organization, and the trade union active participated actively in unified information days, dialogue platforms, and information meetings in labor collectives. A total of more than 100 such events were held, – added Elena Nefedova. – 20 people from our trade union are included in the Vitebsk regional and district election commissions. More than 300 are members of the initiative group of the current President Alexander Lukashenko and are actively engaged in collecting signatures.
The structure of the Vitebsk regional organization includes 21 district, 1 Novopolotsk city organization, and 377 primary organizations (a total of almost 20 thousand people). 100% trade union membership coverage in Beshenkovichi, Verkhnedvinsk, Glubokoye, Dokshitsy, Liozno, Postavy, Rossono, Chashniki, and Sharkovshchina district organizations. In Vitebsk, this indicator has been achieved in 71 out of 79 organizations. In total, 59 new collective agreements have been concluded over five years, including 19 in organizations with private ownership.
– Since 2021, the regional organization has been holding almost all statutory events in an expanded format. The practice of field meetings has proven effective. In 2023-2024 alone, we held field presidiums in 7 districts: Orsha, Braslav, Gorodok, Vitebsk, Tolochin, Senno, and Dokshitsy. We always invited trade union activists from other regions and the city of Vitebsk to exchange work experience and get acquainted with the region's attractions. Participating in rallies-requiems, reconstructions, and patriotic events at the sites of battles and military burials during these events has become a good tradition, – said Elena Nefedova.
During the conference, a report from the audit commission was also heard, and the main directions of activity for the future period were outlined. The work of the regional organization for the reporting period was unanimously approved by the participants.
One of the key moments of the trade union event was the election of the chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization of the trade union of workers of state and other institutions. The conference participants unanimously supported the candidacy of Elena Nefedova.
