Vitebsk summarized the results of the labor employment of the youth of the northern region "Labor Semester – 2020"
Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Penin noted that student detachments are a school of life that promotes communication and long-lasting friendship.
– This year, 236 detachments were active, with over 4.5 thousand students participating, – said Vladimir Petrovich. – There are teams that have proven themselves well, for example, "Evrika", "Ritm", "Zodchie". In a student detachment, you can fully realize your potential in any field of activity: production, agriculture, pedagogy. Instead of walking the streets and demanding change, you need to work on yourself and self-realization. Your youth and creativity are the most important things today. You still have everything ahead of you. It is gratifying that, in addition to studying and working, you always represent the Vitebsk region at a decent level. I personally thank the volunteers who, in difficult times, helped the Red Cross, medical workers, and social services, and congratulate them on their well-deserved awards. I wish you health, the realization of your plans, well-being, and success.
The labor semester is a trend that has united hundreds of young men and women from the Vitebsk region. Our youth participated in the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Project "City of Youth – 2020", the international production project "Atlant", the construction of socially significant facilities in the Vitebsk region, was involved in the improvement of regions, and worked in health camps.
– The 19th-century English statesman Benjamin Disraeli has the aphorism: "Almost everything great has been done by the young." I fully agree with this, – emphasized Gennady Egorov, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee. – Therefore, dare, work on yourselves, and you will definitely succeed! As Tatyana Krasakova, First Secretary of the Vitebsk City Committee of the BRSM, said, over 1400 young people were employed in Vitebsk alone, working in 69 detachments of various profiles. Despite the difficult epidemic situation, enterprises and organizations of the city responded to the youth's desire to work, which resulted in effective cooperation throughout the semester.
As Anna Balad, commissioner of the "UFO" pedagogical detachment, noted, it is a great advantage for young people that they do not need to worry about where to earn money in the summer: the geography of employment is extensive.
– We worked at the "Zhdanoivichi" children's rehabilitation and health center, – Anna explained. – We performed a wide variety of tasks, including organizational ones. It is gratifying that based on the results, each of us received high praise. And the invitation to work next year is a clear example of this. It was not difficult to assemble a team of like-minded people: all the guys perfectly understand how important communication skills are in any profession, and thanks to the BRSM and the student detachment, each of us has such a unique opportunity.
