A mobile mini-clinic has appeared in Vitebsk
A mobile mini-clinic has appeared at the regional diagnostic center. Modern, expensive equipment is installed in a huge van based on a MAZ vehicle chassis.
The innovation of the Belarusian scientific and production company "Adani" cost the regional budget 4 billion 150 million rubles.
Vitebsk region acquired the first complex; before that, only an exhibition version existed. It is designed for early detection of human reproductive system cancer, which holds a leading place in oncology.
Mobile teams of diagnostic center specialists will soon be engaged in examining the health status of the population at their place of residence. As its chief physician Vladimir Orekhva said, the complex is computerized and includes mammography rooms, ultrasound examination rooms, a biochemical laboratory, and workstations for a medical registrar and a gynecologist with the ability to perform colposcopy.
According to Yuri Derkach, head of the regional executive committee's healthcare department, early detection of breast and prostate cancer through the implementation of a screening program will allow for the complete cure of patients and significantly reduce the costs of expensive treatment for patients, which is necessary for advanced stages of cancer. This will significantly reduce population mortality and disability.
It is now possible to screen residents of certain age categories in one district in one and a half to two weeks. Lepel is the first on the route. The results of the examination and necessary medical recommendations for patients will be issued immediately, on-site.
In the future, it is planned to use the mobile complex for diagnosing residents of Smolensk and Pskov regions. Its payback is realistic within three years.
