A new highway will appear in Vitebsk at the intersection of Bauman, Truda, and Lyudnikova streets
The complexity of the landscape will require considerable effort from the builders: the territory is surrounded by the city's transport arteries on three sides, the Vitba River flows on the fourth, and part of it is located in a water protection zone. Preliminary work will involve the construction of engineering networks for structures, as well as the restoration and improvement of the territory after the laying of communications. The general contractor for the construction of the facility is the enterprise "Plissa-Stroy".
Currently, OOO "AVK teplostroy" is engaged in relocating a heating main near the building of the Institute of Technical Acoustics. Piles of sand, a dug-up road, and wooden decking – citizens can no longer walk from Frunze towards Vitba as they used to. However, this is temporary: according to the enterprise's specialists' own estimates, about a third of the work has been completed. Approximately 30 people and 6 units of equipment, including dump trucks and excavators, are involved at the site daily, and completion is planned for this month.
The road surface of Lyudnikov Avenue also hints at upcoming changes. Closer to the bridge, there are signs restricting traffic and indicating road work. Some rails on the tram tracks have been replaced, tiles have been removed in places, and gravel has been laid, with track maintenance crews paving the road towards Gagarin Street.
"Preventive maintenance is underway," commented the director of the regional motor transport enterprise, Sergey Medvedev. "In addition, we want to contribute to the appearance of the city streets, modernize Lyudnikov Avenue, and make it a logical continuation of Gagarin Street by installing three new bus shelters – similar to the one near the railway station. Citizens will be able to use them as early as May."
