An alley was planted in Vitebsk in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory
Representatives of the regional executive committee, city executive committee, embassies of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in the Republic of Belarus, law enforcement agencies of the region, city enterprises, students of VSU named after P. Masherov, members of the regional branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus", and other public associations and parties took part in the international project "Alley of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory".
– It is a pleasure to lay an alley of trees, which arrived from different parts of the former Soviet Union, together with the delegations. This is a wonderful initiative that would be a sin not to support on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin. – Such events are another brick in the wall of our memory, which is becoming higher, stronger, and more reliable.
The Chairperson of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus", Rector of VSU named after P. Masherov Valentina Bogatyreva, said that the central tree of the alley is a sapling of the famous Stalingrad poplar of Victory, which was planted in the botanical garden on April 2, 2024, on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. And of the 12 trees planted today, 7 were donated by the embassies of countries that contributed to bringing Victory Day closer.
– The main message of the international campaign is to show that we value peace and preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War and its history. And only together, by uniting and creating, can we preserve peace and pass this memory on to the younger generation, who will take care of the trees, – noted Valentina Bogatyreva.
On this day, participants of the festive event were able to taste soldier's porridge and enjoy a festive concert dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory, and visit exhibitions prepared by students of VSU named after P. Masherov.
