In Vitebsk, an underpass has opened after reconstruction, with the construction of another one next in line.

Underground passage reopened in Vitebsk after reconstruction at the intersection of Moskovsky Prospekt and Petrus Brovka Street.

More precisely, pedestrians have been using it recently, but now all the work is finally completed.

The work lasted from January 2016. In a little over a year, the walls were tiled, new concrete bases for the passages were laid, and on them – paving slabs, joints were sealed, new stairs were installed, suspended ceilings were made, lighting and video surveillance systems were installed. The total cost of all work under the project was almost 1.2 million rubles.

– The main difficulties were related to hydrogeological conditions. Clay soils lie under the passage, and water had to be fought using special waterproofing systems, – said the chief designer of UP "Institute "Vitebskgrazhdanproekt" Alexey Radyush.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Nikolaykin thanked everyone involved in this project – the customer GP "UKS of the city of Vitebsk", the designers UP "Institute "Vitebskgrazhdanproekt", the general contractor OOO "Plissa Stroy". Individual specialists were awarded personal commendations and monetary rewards for their work.

– Now we will start building a passage at the intersectionBrovki Street with Builders Avenue. The design work for it has already been completed, – noted Viktor Pavlovich.
