In Vitebsk, elderly volunteers will be trained in the basics of energy efficiency

The training seminar for the elderly "Energy Saving in the "Golden" Age" will be held in Vitebsk on September 25-26, as reported by the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education.

The event will take place at Secondary School No. 12 of the regional center, where an energy saving resource center has been operating this year. Training here is conducted using special demonstration devices: heating radiators, valves, toys powered by alternative energy sources, windows made of various materials, etc. School teachers will train elderly people from Vitebsk, Kobrin, and Shumilinsky district in the basics of economy and thrift. In addition to practical classes, the seminar includes a training session with a psychologist and master classes on making crafts from scrap materials. "The teachers have prepared many surprises for the elderly, future volunteers who will later teach their peers the basics of energy efficiency," the organizers noted.

The energy saving seminar for the elderly is one of the events of the project "From Social Dialogue to Social Partnership," aimed at adult education. "The experience accumulated in Vitebsk in the field of andragogy can be widely used in other regions in the future. In particular, practical material on teaching adults energy saving has already been disseminated in the Brest region. In addition, there is an increasing interest in this topic from businesses, enterprises, investors, and ordinary citizens," the institute stated.
