Two people died in a fire in Vitebsk

A report of a fire in a residential building on 3rd Byaduli Street in Vitebsk was received at 3 a.m. Upon arrival, rescuers saw that the building was engulfed in open flames with a large amount of smoke.

At the time of the tragedy, there were four people aged 20-26 inside: the homeowner's son, a girl visiting him who made the call to the emergency services, as well as a male acquaintance and a female acquaintance.

The young man and the girl managed to get out on their own and were unharmed, but rescuers found two acquaintances without signs of life in a room. The homeowner herself was not present.

As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, property, and walls were damaged. The cause of the fire is being determined. The considered version is carelessness while smoking by the homeowner's son.
