In Vitebsk, exercises will be held on eliminating industrial accidents and localizing outbreaks of dangerous infections

For three days, Vitebsk will be "eliminating accidents at enterprises and localizing outbreaks of particularly dangerous infections": today, a comprehensive exercise on the topic "Actions of management bodies, forces of the State Fire Service and Civil Defense in case of threat of occurrence and occurrence of emergencies in peacetime and wartime" begins in the city, the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Ministry Department informed a BELTA correspondent. The exercise zone will cover the entire city, and about 50 enterprises, organizations, and departments of the regional center will take direct part in it. Duty forces of the city, economic entities, and facility-based and territorial civil defense formations will also be involved. Practical measures they will have to perform include deploying radiation and chemical observation posts; checking the readiness of loading and unloading teams for the delivery of personal protective equipment, deploying points for their issuance to working personnel from the reserves of economic entities; preparing protective structures for the reception of evacuees; deploying a mobile repair and recovery group, a mobile catering unit, a vehicle decontamination station, and a mobile command post. During the exercise, a tactical and special training session will be held on localizing and eliminating an outbreak of a particularly dangerous infection and its consequences. The exercise is designed to verify the feasibility of the civil defense plan for the protection of the population and territory of the city, plans for the prevention and elimination of emergencies, and civil defense plans of economic entities; to practically work out the actions of the emergency commission under the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, city and economic entity emergency management bodies for the protection of working personnel and the non-production population in case of emergencies in peacetime, and the actions of civil defense headquarters in wartime. The comprehensive exercise will conclude on August 31. The results of the event will be summarized on the same day. -0-
