The art project #SupremStorm night took place in Vitebsk
Artists, designers, performers, musicians, DJs, authors, actors, and spectators united in a single creative impulse. The project of continuous experiments created a special creative atmosphere, giving everyone an opportunity to find rest for their soul.
As the project leader Vladislava Tsviki said, #SupremStorm_night traditionally opens with an art battle. And this time was no exception: in the central hall, artists painted pictures in front of the audience.
– Many of you attended our SupremStorm two years ago, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the UNOVIS association, which Malevich founded in Vitebsk in 1920. And today we are continuing the SupremStorm series and dedicating it to all of Malevich's students. This is a cult association that we can be proud of as the artistic history of our city. The theme of today's art battle is "Easy and Simple. COSMO". Malevich believed that suprematism is the art of the airplane, and his students said that suprematism is the art of space, – set the cosmic-suprematist direction for the artists **Doctor of Art History, Professor of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov Tatyana Kotovich.**
The walls of the Vitebsk Concert Hall foyer featured the poster exhibition "Two Squares Flew. A Tale" accompanied by unimaginable installations. Even a painted toilet became an art object. The exhibition presents works from an international competition dedicated to El Lissitzky, organized by the Department of Design of Vitebsk State Technological University.
The exhibition of thirteen abstract paintings by the young artist Nikita Efimenko, who studied in St. Petersburg, painted in Moscow, but decided to hold his first exhibition in his hometown, became a dedication to the Red and Black squares, because he is convinced that it is absolutely about Vitebsk.
For those who wanted to abstract from the city noise and relax, Gregor Gudkov prepared an audio-visual techno performance and a visual media installation GongApeiron.
Throughout the evening, at all venues of the Vitebsk Concert Hall, the youth theater "Koleso" created the performances "Suprematist Land" and "Daniil Kharms' Proun," and the collective BARAВAND added explosive, rattling drive to the fest.
At 8:00 PM, dance lovers headed to the AfterParty with live sound. DJ DMB, DJ S3zh, Dj S.Suhov, DJ Jam, DJ Pasha, MC Flyer, and others presented their own dance music in popular modern styles. The special guest of the evening was "DE PUTA MADRE BANDA." The disco will last until two in the morning.
During #SupremStorm_night, the public competition "+4.500" was announced for the best design concept, naming, and architectural content of an art space, which will be the roof of the "Marko-City" business center. The organizers called out to students, designers, and architects: "We need your creative ideas." The venue should come alive, be filled with the special spirit of creative Vitebsk, and become modern and comfortable. The deadline is June 1, 2022. The winner in each of the three nominations will receive a graphic tablet. Their names will be announced on City Day. Recall that Vitebsk celebrates its birthday on June 26. By agreement with the management of the "Marko" holding, the best project will be implemented on the roof of "Marko-City".
The project was a success, and now the organizers plan to make #SupremStorm_night a regular festival that will unite creative people.
