The Vitebsk regional floristry competition was held
Cattails turned inside out, a hairstyle made of corn "hair," bast valenki (felt boots), a New Year's coat for mice and rats made of willow "cats" – all this and much more was used by the participants of the creative competition of flora enthusiasts to create original compositions. They master bulrush and tropical fiber, mounting foam and straw. They can make, if not a laurel wreath, then certainly a dress out of laurel leaves, and also unique bags from natural materials.
Girls and boys from eight districts of the region, the VODDiM, and educational institutions of the regional center demonstrated their skills in creating floristic compositions, while adults showcased original women's accessories. The in-person round involved 39 schoolchildren aged 10 to 14 and 15 additional education teachers.
The remote round featured works by participants who could not attend in person. These included Christmas trees, toys, and souvenirs made from natural and non-natural materials, as well as paintings reconstructed using floristry. One Scandinavian-style Christmas beauty could have been an excellent decorative solution for the most fashionable living room.
The winners of this amazing fantasy contest were determined in two nominations: for educators - "Stylish Winter", for schoolchildren - "The Symbol Rules the New Year". The palm of victory among adults went to Svetlana Stankevich (Vitebsk City Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth) and Lyudmila Karchmit (Regional Palace of Children and Youth), among the creative shift - to the tandems of Angelina Tomilina and Daria Popova (Postavy), Ksenia Burneyko and Anastasia Umetskaya (Beshenkovichi).
