A dialogue platform with the BRSM aktiv was held in Vitebsk

Changes and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus were discussed today in Vitebsk during the regional dialogue platform "The Power of Law".

About 70 people took part in the current discussion. Leaders of territorial organizations of BRSM, members of student teams, youth activists of the Union of Youth of enterprises and organizations, as well as non-union youth gathered at VSU named after P. M. Masherov to get answers from competent experts on all pressing issues and then convey the information to their peers in their collectives.

According to the first secretary of the regional committee of BRSM Vladimir Babichev, the proposed amendments to the Constitution indicate that the state pays great attention to youth policy.

— It is we who will have to continue building a strong and independent Belarus, — emphasized the youth leader of the Vitebsk region. — Open dialogue is an excellent platform for communication between young people and a unique opportunity to ask experienced experts their questions.

The conversation was lively, substantive, sometimes emotional, touching upon various aspects of our lives. The head of the region Alexander Subbotin, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich, in an accessible form, conveyed important political moments to the youth.

Participants of the discussion platform were interested in how experts assess the work on preparing amendments to the Fundamental Law, what will be the role of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly and the Parliament after the adoption of the amendments, and the possibility of increasing the youth age to 35 years. The topic of patriotism also aroused considerable interest.

During the discussion, the attendees came to the conclusion that this concept is multifaceted. The Constitution must keep pace with the times and change, because life sometimes presents completely unexpected challenges. Today, the interaction of viewpoints of different generations is truly important. Youth issues sometimes force us to think and look at a particular situation from a different angle. This, perhaps, is the development of society.

By the way, currently, BRSM youth dialogue platforms are operating throughout the country. In January-February of the current year, more than four hundred open dialogues are planned in the Vitebsk region alone. In addition, the Vitebsk regional organization plans to implement a number of youth projects aimed at explaining the draft Constitution of Belarus and increasing the electoral activity of youth. Among them are the board game "Our Law", youth debates "The Future is Ours", the media project #PRO_Law, the quest game "Constitution – the Fundamental Law of the State", and others.
