An regional pedagogical conference of education and science workers was held in Vitebsk
Educational institutions, colleges, and lyceums of the Vitebsk region presented their projects and demonstrated their achievements – what they are proud of.
Polotsk uniquely and brightly presented two regional educational projects that were implemented in 2016-2021. One of them is the historical and educational project "Timeline". The main goal is to bring to life the pages of the history of the Polotsk land. 10 creative workshops were created, which are engaged in animation and reconstruction of historical events. At the venue, students of Secondary School No. 10 named after V. Azin of Polotsk presented the life and work of the Belarusian artist Ivan Khrutsky in the "Living Pictures" exhibition.
The other project is the cultural and educational project "United by Friendship. Polotsk and Twin Cities". Platforms from Russia, China, and Georgia were presented. At each platform, guests could learn about the history and culture, national cuisine, traditions, folk customs, play games, and attend a master class.
Conference participants could not only attend culinary master classes but also try coffee and desserts at the student "Cafe 16", which is based at the Vitebsk State Polytechnic Vocational Lyceum.
Athletes practicing street workout (a type of outdoor physical activity) demonstrated their skills. Training sessions are held at Secondary School No. 25 in Vitebsk.
The Chashniki district presented a prototype platform of the "Alternative" Prevention Center, which has become a unified space where specialists from educational, cultural, healthcare institutions, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Emergency Situations, the Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population, and representatives of public associations and organizations present information in an accessible form for children and youth about the necessity of leading a healthy and safe lifestyle and the impact of negative factors on their future.
The Orsha Orthodox Military-Patriotic Club UNESCO "Rusichi" and its leader Grigory Sharay represented the Orsha State Polytechnic Vocational-Technical College. The club members study the history of the Fatherland, engage in drill, tactical, medical, and tourist training, master parachuting, practice shooting skills, learn horseback riding, scuba diving, and hand-to-hand combat. Grigory Sharay is the author of the book "The Earth Knows How to Speak," which he presented to Nikolai Sherstnev. The book tells the story of how the remains of fallen soldiers, long considered missing in action, were found.
Opinion
Head of the Education Department of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee Olga Trublovskaya:
– The trip to the Republican Pedagogical Council was a major event for all educators in the country. It was an opportunity to meet, communicate, share experiences, see how educational activities are directed in other regions, and make friends. The most important moment was the meeting with our President, who, in a very friendly atmosphere and simple communication, highlighted very significant and important areas of work for educational institutions. Every detail has been thought out, a new concept, a new vector for the development of our work has been built. Which, of course, we will follow and strive to move forward.
The regional traditional August conference always takes place in a new format, with new developments and ideas. We see a joyful atmosphere when the entire region arrives, delegations from educational institutions. This is a good start to the new academic year, a kind farewell, and a concretization of our goals and objectives. After the regional conference, we will hold a conference in the Vitebsk region.
