The fifth republican sports games for employees of the Ministry of Economy and regional economic bodies were held in Vitebsk
About 200 amateur athletes from all over the country competed for three days at the Vitebsk Cadet School and at the central sports complex of FC Vitebsk.
— The Spartakiad has been held for five years, and the initiative is actively supported by trade unions. The right to host it is transferred from region to region in turn. This year it's the Vitebsk region's turn. The level of competition is constantly growing, — said the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, Dmitry Krutoy.
— The goal of the tournament is to unite teams, as teamwork and the ability to find common ground are especially important for representatives of our industry.
The sports component is the basis of the event, but we also do not forget about work issues, organizing round tables.
Thus, in Vitebsk, economists discussed the nuances of the development program for the Orsha region, districts lagging behind the regional economic indicators, and a large experimental project in agriculture to create a unified holding structure.
— In the Orsha region, the results in agriculture are record-breaking for the region thanks to the resources that have been attracted. Recently, we discussed with the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kachanova, the allocation of funds for social subprograms for the development of the region, — noted Dmitry Nikolaevich. — The first stage of creating holding structures has shown that there are already positive results. Integrators have rebuilt management flows and production schemes in a new way. It worked and is yielding results. Now we need to move forward: to enlarge structures, to determine target areas for individual segments of agricultural activities.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, attended the opening ceremony of the Spartakiad.
— We are pleased to welcome you to the Vitebsk land. We have beautiful nature, which is why representatives of various ministries and departments, and organizations gather here for sports events in the summer. The developed sports infrastructure also contributes to this, — said Nikolay Nikolayevich. — As hosts, we must provide you with the opportunity not only to demonstrate high results but also to relax and unite, so that you can lead the entire industry and national economy of the country like a locomotive.

During the Spartakiad, awards were contested in various sports, including volleyball, mini-football, swimming, athletics, and tug-of-war. In the overall team standings, Vitebsk region took first place, the Ministry's team came in second, and Gomel region won bronze.
