Celebrations dedicated to the Day of the Belarusian Police were held in Vitebsk

For decades, police officers have been fulfilling their main task – ensuring law and order and the safety of every person. Even if it means sacrificing their own lives to save someone else's. The feats of officers who protected the rights and interests of citizens at the highest cost were honored by the police officers with a minute of silence and laying flowers at the memorial. This is how the ceremony dedicated to Police Day in Vitebsk traditionally begins. The head of the Internal Affairs Directorate, Viktor Senko, also spoke about the memory of the fallen officers. He noted that the names of each of them are forever inscribed in the history of the Vitebsk police, and current officers must be worthy successors to the cause of serving the law. And much is being done for this. According to him, recently there have been no emergencies in the region that could have alarmed people, which means the police are coping with their assigned tasks.

As is known, crime knows no borders, and therefore this evil can only be overcome through joint efforts. This was stated at the solemn formation by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for the Smolensk Region, Major General of Police Mikhail Skokov. He thanked his Vitebsk colleagues for their fruitful cooperation and expressed confidence that the ties between the departments would only strengthen. During the festive event, kind words were not spared for the police officers who distinguished themselves most during their service. Anniversary medals and commendations were awarded to many officers of the internal affairs bodies. Relatives of the fallen officers were present at the ceremony dedicated to Police Day. The head of the Internal Affairs Directorate spoke with them during a tea party, listened to their requests, and promised to continue to provide the most comprehensive support.

In the afternoon, the festive events moved to one of the main stage venues of the city on the Dvina River – the Vitebsk Concert Hall. Here, police officers and their numerous guests were awaited by a bright and colorful performance. People in uniform were congratulated by the best creative groups of the regional center and famous Belarusian artists.
