Vitebsk to hold competition for anti-vandal benches
Competitionfor vandal-proof benches will be held in Vitebsk in 2016.Decorative objects will decorate the newly improved recreation area, reported the chairman of the city council of deputies, Vladimir Belevich.
“When I was in Gomel at a seminar of the Council of the Republic on the topic of improvement, I made, sure that each city has interesting ideas in this area, which can be implemented and in our.. In our city much has already been done, but there is no limit to perfection. Recreation areas with designer elements of landscaping by young and creative authors — that is what is relevant now», — noted Vladimir Beleevich.
Vitebsk already has examples of such projects being implemented. A public garden with designer benches has been created next to the administration of the Pervomaisky District. Next year, a new competition will be held among Vitebsk enterprises of all forms of ownership for the creation of this decorative element. In addition to design ingenuity, the jury will also assess vandal resistance.
Contestants will be able to enlist the help of students of art specialties and other specialists. The name and field of activity of the enterprise will be indicated in the design of the bench or its elements. Thus, participants will secure a free advertising space for themselves, and the city will acquire a new unique landscaped recreation area.
