A month-long campaign on fire safety rules for the public is being held in Vitebsk

В Витебске проводится месячник по обучению населения правилам пожарной безопасности

With the aim of preventing fires and loss of life from them, from October 1 to October 31, 2013, a month-long campaign on educating the public on fire safety rules in everyday life and at work is being held in the city of Vitebsk. It includes a comprehensive set of measures to intensify preventive work aimed at ensuring the fire safety of facilities, territories, and housing stock.

The main focus is on preventive work and inspection of households of lonely pensioners, disabled individuals, large families, and the so-called risk group, which includes dysfunctional families, citizens abusing alcohol, as well as families where children are raised in inadequate conditions. Throughout the month, the personnel of the Vitebsk City Department for Emergency Situations, inspection commissions, district police inspectors, social security department employees, and volunteer fire brigades conduct daily inspections of the housing stock with fire-technical surveys of residential buildings belonging to this category of citizens.

Another main focus of the campaign is conducting training sessions on fire safety rules at enterprises. In schools and preschool institutions, discussions aimed at life safety are held with staff and students, as well as at parent-teacher meetings.
