The military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa. Northern Region" is being held in Vitebsk among MOOP

The regional military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa. Northern Region" among members of Youth Law Enforcement Detachments (MOOP) was held for the first time at the base of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade.

The honorable guests of the event included Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Marchenko, Deputy Military Commissar of the region, Colonel, Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of BRSM, and others.

– Youth Law Enforcement Detachments are the foundation of the youth law enforcement movement. Participation in public order protection is a truly nationwide cause, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov. – Thanks to law enforcement agencies, our country is known for being safe and decent. Today, on the drill ground, are the best fighters from among the MOOP members, who are always ready to help in difficult situations. I am confident that today's event will teach you to achieve team leadership as well, and will help you develop character. Those who know the past and appreciate the present of their native country have a great future ahead of them.

Andrey Balanescu, Deputy Commander for Ideological Work of Military Unit 52500, Guards Major, emphasized that raising a patriot is a complex and multifaceted process that begins in early childhood and accompanies a person throughout their life. The Fatherland does not appear overnight, and to become a defender of the Motherland, one must prepare for it.

Today, the youth law enforcement movement involves over 1000 young men and women throughout the region, who weekly participate in joint work with law enforcement officers: patrolling streets, public gardens, recreation areas, etc.

The organizers of the regional military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa. Northern Region" are the Military Commissariat of the Vitebsk Region, the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee, the Main Department of Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, and the Regional Committee of the BRSM.

Team members competed in sports and applied all-around disciplines: grenade throwing for accuracy, pull-ups on the horizontal bar, obstacle course, disassembling and assembling a Kalashnikov assault rifle, providing first aid to a "victim", and transporting a "wounded" person. Participants also competed in putting on a parachute mock-up, a drill competition, and long jumps.

The game is timed to coincide with the Year of Historical Memory and the 20th anniversary of the "BRSM" NGO.
