A fairy tale figures exhibition is taking place in Vitebsk
A fairytale "team" led by Tsar Saltan has arrived in Vitebsk from St. Petersburg for the first time. Now crowds of children are besieging the local history museum – it's not every day you get the chance to interact with the learned cat, chained to an oak tree with a golden chain, visit the domains of Tsar Saltan, sit in the hut of the poor fisherman, and enjoy the beauty and richness of the tent of the real Queen of Shemakha. And also, armed with a sword, fight the Serpent Gorynych.
The special dim lighting of the hall creates an illusion even for adults that you have truly entered the world of an old, kind, and well-known fairy tale. The characters can move, thereby enhancing the impression of reality.
The exhibition organizers say:
– Vitebsk is the beginning of our great journey across Belarus. Later, we will move to Orsha, and then to other cities. So, on the eve of the summer holidays, children will be able to get a great mood boost.
The exhibition features the main fairytale characters, heroes of works loved since childhood. Many of them are "alive." Each has its own role and character. The figures are combined into thematic scenes and seem to have become one large collection of fairy tales.
Many adults visit the exhibition. Perhaps it's a desire to return to childhood for at least a moment.
