In Vitebsk, no decision was made to define places where it is prohibited to collect voters' signatures
September 30, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In Vitebsk, no decision has been made to define places where picketing is prohibited for the purpose of collecting voters' signatures. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Denis Glutkin, head of the ideological work department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
According to him, this is due to the positive experience of the previous election campaign, which was also held without restrictions on picket locations and passed without any incidents. "This time, it was also decided to meet the initiative groups halfway and not limit their opportunities for collecting signatures, as they have serious and strenuous work ahead of them," emphasized Denis Glutkin.
The decision to define territories where picketing for the collection of signatures for the nomination of candidates for the presidency of Belarus is prohibited is made by local authorities independently, Leonid Dorofeenko, deputy head of the organizational and personnel work department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, reminded in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent, noting that these restrictions are minimal and aimed at ensuring public order. -0-
