Vitebsk to select the best youth volunteer squad in the region today

The best youth voluntary patrol unit of the region will be chosen in Vitebsk today, a BELTA correspondent was informed at the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM. The regional sports competition will be held at the base of the patrol and sentry service regiment of the internal affairs department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Its participants will be 25 teams from the region that won in district and city competitions of voluntary patrols and youth law enforcement units (YLPUs). The competitions will identify the most prepared participants of the law enforcement movement in grenade throwing (700 g) for distance, 100m running and a set of strength exercises, overcoming an obstacle course for 400m, as well as demonstrate their knowledge of legal and medical training. The final stage of the competition will be tug-of-war, where cohesion, team spirit and a strong desire to win of each participant will lead to the best result. The sports competition is another event aimed at fostering civic responsibility, morality, patriotism among youth, developing and popularizing the law enforcement movement of the region, as well as identifying young citizens with good physical and legal training for work in law enforcement agencies. The competition will launch the events of the republican campaign "Together for Safety and Law and Order" in the Vitebsk region. During the sports competition, it is planned to organize an exhibition of technical means and equipment, as well as demonstration performances by employees of the patrol and sentry service regiment of the police. According to Dmitry Khoma, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM, the participation of youth in the law enforcement movement of the region is an integral part of the activities of the regional BRSM organization, which is gaining more and more authority among young patrol members every year. The organizers of the event are the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Department for Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM. As of September 1, 45 youth law enforcement units have been established in the Vitebsk region, uniting 699 young patrol members, who are on duty together with patrol and sentry service details, employees of district (city) internal affairs departments, maintain law and order during mass events, participate in preventive raids together with internal affairs officers, and carry out educational work with adolescents who are under various types of preventive supervision. Holding reviews and competitions of professional skills, training and methodological meetings, YLPU Days, based on the results of which the most prepared participants of the law enforcement movement are identified, has become a good tradition. In addition, at the suggestion of the Central Committee of the NGO "BRSM", the best of them have the opportunity to receive letters of recommendation for admission to law enforcement agencies. -0-
