In Vitebsk, schoolchildren will be taught to create augmented and virtual reality
The courses will operate on the basis of the university's "Academy of Modern Technologies". The duration of the training is 18 sessions (once a week for two hours). Students aged 6 to 10 years will gain knowledge in augmented (AR) and virtual (VR) reality classes. Schoolchildren will have computers with the necessary software, video cameras, and virtual reality headsets at their disposal. The children will be taught to develop and use augmented and virtual reality applications. VSTU teachers will conduct the classes.
"Currently, augmented reality is one of the most promising areas in IT development. It can make information perception much simpler and more visual; with the help of this technology, real objects acquire new qualities and are revealed from a different perspective. After mastering it, students will move on to virtual reality; these two technologies are interconnected," explained Victoria Muricheva. The club's program is developed based on the latest advancements in AR and VR reality and is designed to interest children in this IT field, as well as to help them choose a future profession. The course content is built on alternating theoretical and practical sessions.
"The Academy of Modern Technologies" has been operating at VSTU since last year. It includes training courses for students in grades 5-11 in several areas. New courses have been introduced this year: 3D modeling for printing, programming, and website development.
