In Vitebsk, Swedish professors will hold discussions on gender issues in visual culture
The project is being implemented by the Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm and Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov. Professors Ulla Lind and Anetta Gethlund, as well as artist with a master's degree in visual culture Irina Hauska, will give open lectures in Vitebsk from October 9-11. They will be held at Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov.
The lecturers will conduct workshops (practical sessions) and discussions on gender issues in visual culture in a dynamic format, introduce their research on this topic, and talk about the perception of the raised topic by Swedish students.
Students of the art and graphics faculty of VSU and students of Vitebsk State Technological University will take part in the events.
– Sweden and Belarus are geographically close to each other, but unfortunately, we lack cooperation in many areas of artistic practice. This project is trying to correct this through communication with young creative people, future teachers of art and culture, – noted Irina Hauska.
In accordance with the project, it is planned to organize a performance by teachers of the art and graphics faculty of Vitebsk State University for Swedish creative youth in the future.
