In Vitebsk, a guide dog dragged its owner down a cliff
June 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Vitebsk rescuers helped a blind man and his guide dog get out of a ravine near the Western Dvina River, the press secretary of the regional Emergency Situations Ministry department, Marina Fando, told a BELTA correspondent.
The report came from random passers-by who witnessed the incident. A 42-year-old man was walking along the river bank with his dog. Suddenly, the dog bolted to the side and dragged its owner towards the Western Dvina. After dragging the man about 15 meters down the ravine through weeds, the Rottweiler froze literally on the edge of the cliff.
When rescuers arrived, the injured dog was breathing heavily and reacted painfully to touch. The man was not injured and stayed with his pet until help arrived. Later, he explained that he had repeatedly contacted the veterinary clinic regarding the health condition of his 8-year-old dog. -0-
