The opening of the 'Slavic Brotherhood' project took place in Vitebsk
This project brings together artists from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Serbia. They met at various international plein air events. Their shared love for art has united artists with different perceptions of the world around them. Through their works, they aim to introduce viewers to the corners of provincial Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The ideological inspirer of this project is Natalia Britova, a prominent representative of the Vladimir school of painting. She presents vibrant, rich canvases created at the "Sukhonskiye Zori" and "VII All-Russian Vasnetsov Plein Air" projects. At the latter, Natalia was awarded the Kirov Region Government Prize "Inspiration".
Russia is also represented by Olga Dushechkina from Oryol, whose expressive landscapes always captivate viewers, and by the mesmerizing graphics of Viktor Belyukov from Yekaterinburg. The unique decorative weaving works by Tatyana Grebneva, executed in the ancient Slavic style, and the sunny, positive mood landscapes by Olga Boroday, a representative of the Moscow school of painting, are also featured. Anastasia Motovilova, a sculptor in the third generation and a laureate of various competitions, contributes decorative, animalistic, and portrait sculptures.
Belarus is represented by the unique reality-transforming pointillist landscapes of Viktor Tikhonov, a well-known Belarusian landscape artist. Svetlana Vrublevskaya, an associate professor at the Vitebsk State Technological University, showcases her distinctive watercolors. The silvery-blue landscapes and scenes from Slavic festivals by the original artist Alexander Zakharenko are also part of the exhibition.
Ukraine is represented by Carpathian landscapes created by Lyudmila Borshosh-Letun, a lecturer in the design department at Uzhhorod University. Serbia is represented by mountains shrouded in the winds and mists of the Adriatic in the alluring landscapes of Mirjana Stojanović.
The exhibition includes over 70 works. Among them are picturesque and graphic landscapes of various corners of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Serbia. Additionally, portraits, still lifes, and thematic compositions are presented, reflecting the unique national character, daily life, and culture of these countries. All the works displayed were created by the artists in the last few years.
The exhibition project "Slavic Brotherhood" will be open from August 6 to August 13, 2013, in the building of the Vitebsk Art Museum.
