The regional stage of the republican subject Olympiads has started in Vitebsk

To perform at them flawlessly, with genuine enthusiasm, teachers and students have been working for several months, and in some cases even years! Participation in olympiads requires not only good abilities but also immense diligence. And where else can one learn this quality if not in labor lessons?

For many students of Orsha Secondary School No. 13, the labor training taught by Leonid Finkin is one of their favorite subjects, which is why they have repeatedly won diplomas of various levels.

— I like that both the mind and hands are engaged in these lessons, — notes student Savely Konovalov, winner of the republican stage of subject olympiads in 2014. — Last year, we prepared very diligently and did a lot of extra work. I hope to perform well this year too, just like my teammate Gleb Bolotnikov. He, by the way, was a prize-winner of the regional stage back then. We brought our works "Weather Vane" and "Musical Chess" and will defend them.

The labor training olympiad is taking place these days at Vitebsk Secondary School No. 6, which has appropriate conditions for practical work in the workshop, for defending home projects—original handmade projects, and for theoretical tests.

From January 12 to 16, subject olympiad participants are also hosted in Vitebsk by Gymnasiums No. 2 and 5, the Center for Creativity of Children and Youth of Pervomaisky District, the State Technological College, the State Vocational-Technical College of Light Industry, and Vocational Lyceum No. 5 of Instrument Engineering. Competitions are also held at educational institutions in Orsha and Polotsk. In total, 1126 participants from various parts of the Vitebsk region are demonstrating their knowledge in 13 subjects. A team will be formed from the winners to defend the region's honor at the republican stage of subject olympiads in the spring.
