The regional mini-football tournament among employees of RUP "Vitebskenergo" has started in Vitebsk.

In the regional center, at the youth sports school of FC Vitebsk, an interregional mini-football tournament for employees of RUP Vitebskenergo has started, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Vitebsk energy system. Teams from 16 branches of the enterprise from cities and districts of the Dvina region are participating in the competition.

During the solemn opening ceremony of the tournament, the chairman of the regional council of deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He wished them to avoid injuries and expressed hope that the competition would be spectacular.

“It is very pleasant that the enterprise administration and the trade union committee pay great attention not only to production issues but also to the development of physical culture, sports, and recreation,” noted Vladimir Vladimirovich. “It is great that energy workers are engaged in football. This is a team game. After all, in work, situations sometimes arise when the presence of a collective spirit is important, and it becomes necessary to support a comrade. Football allows you to feel the team spirit.”

This has a positive impact on work as well. In addition, regular training helps to stay in shape.

Competitions are held in this format for the first time.

– In previous years, football competitions were part of the year-round industry sports games, – said Vladimir Diklov, Deputy General Director of RUP "Vitebskenergo". – In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Vitebsk energy system, it was decided to hold separate football competitions.

The tournament takes place over two days. At the preliminary stage, teams will play in four subgroups, with the same number of teams in each. The two best teams from each quartet will advance to the playoffs.

The team of the "Energosbyt" branch from Vitebsk is one of the tournament favorites. In previous years, it took prize-winning places in industry football competitions.

– Playing football develops physical strength and brings pleasure, – noted team player Alexander Shchukin. – For me, football is more than a hobby. We train 2 times a week. Playing football allows you to switch off, recharge with new energy, and work more productively afterwards.
