In Vitebsk, three drug addicts brutally beat acquaintances with baseball bats, with whom they had jointly used drugs. This was reported to BELTA by the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region.
On the morning of March 5, law enforcement agencies received a report from a healthcare facility that a woman born in 1991 and two men born in 1989 and 1978 had been delivered to them by an ambulance crew in a state of drug intoxication with traumatic brain injuries.
A investigative-operational group immediately departed for the scene. It was established that the bodily injuries to the victims were inflicted by three of their acquaintances after joint use of narcotic substances in the apartment of one of the victims. The bodily injuries were inflicted with baseball bats.
The actions of the suspects are characterized by unmotivated particular cruelty, as evidenced by the severity of the inflicted bodily injuries, as well as the crime weapon found broken into splinters during the inspection of the scene.
Currently, the victims are in the intensive care unit of the healthcare facility in extremely serious condition. The suspects have been detained. They are residents of the city of Vitebsk. Two of them were born in 1992, the third in 1993. Investigators continue to work with them.
The Vitebsk City Department of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 147 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm committed against three persons) of the Criminal Code.
