In Vitebsk, at Secondary School No. 46, a museum was opened in honor of twice Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Khristoforovich Bagramyan

В Витебске в СШ № 46 открыли музей в честь дважды Героя Советского Союза Ивана Христофоровича Баграмяна
Today, the museum plays a significant role in the military-patriotic education of youth. For the sake of the memory of those who gave their lives for the Motherland, for the sake of those veterans who remained alive, for the sake of the future of our people, we must preserve and pass down from generation to generation this eternal feeling – Memory!

The Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, addressing the attendees, noted that the museum's opening is a landmark event. It was preceded by extensive research work, as a colossal effort was made by searchers, educators, and schoolchildren in a relatively short period.

– The constantly maintained connection with Ivan Bagramyan's family is invaluable, as there is nothing better in the educational process than to raise the younger generation by the example of our ancestors, who showed the price of peaceful life with their military feats. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers not only defended the Motherland but also did a lot in the post-war period, – emphasized Vladimir Vladimirovich.

He also spoke about what connects the education system and Ivan Bagramyan: "Ivan Khristoforovich was called the Pioneer Marshal. Because he led the military-patriotic game 'Zarnitsa' for many years."

The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Vadim Zaryankin, the Head of the Administration of the Pervomaisky District, Nikolai Orlov, the General Director of the Foundation for the Development and Support of Armenian Studies, Armen Khechoyan, as well as the Military Commissar of the Vitebsk Region, Ruslan Shkodin, also joined the congratulations. The grandson and granddaughter of the marshal, Ivan Sergeevich Bagramyan and Karine Nadzharova, were present at the opening ceremony, albeit online.

The significance of the opening of the museum named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Bagramyan is hard to overestimate, noted Suren Arayevich Avetisyan, attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Republic of Belarus, as the contribution of the Vitebsk region to preserving the memory of the liberator warriors is invaluable. The guest of honor is convinced that in the future, more than one similar facility will be created and opened on Belarusian soil, and our fraternal peoples will have another reason for joint pride.
