A man burned to death in dry grass in Vitebsk

The body of a man with signs of burns was discovered in a burnt-out area of 100 square meters the previous evening in the regional center.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the body of the deceased was found near house No. 149 on K. Marx Street. The man's identity has not yet been established. According to the preliminary version, the cause of the fire was carelessness while burning dry vegetation. It is not yet clear whether the man was burning grass himself or if someone else was involved.

In Belarus, due to early warming and established dry weather, a fire hazard situation persists. In just one day, about 360 fires occurred, and almost two thousand in a month. 11 people have already become victims of burning grass and shrubs. In the tragic list for the past day, there are five such victims.

During the spring burn-off, 135 houses and buildings have already been destroyed or damaged. The precipitation expected on the weekend may influence the situation. As well as fines, – the Ministry of Emergency Situations is confident. And they for burning vegetation exceed 7 million. Lighting fires in prohibited places also entails a warning or a fine of up to twelve base units.

Burning garbage on your property is certainly possible, but it is necessary to observe basic safety rules. This should only be done in calm weather. It is better to light a fire no closer than 10 meters from buildings, 20 meters from forests, and 30 meters from straw. A grill or barbecue should be placed at least 4 meters away from the house.
