An Easter service was held at the Assumption Cathedral in Vitebsk
Citizens of all ages attended the service, where they heard the congratulation of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', which was read by His Eminence:
– The Resurrection of the Savior opened the gates of the Heavenly Kingdom to humanity and filled our earthly existence with eternal meaning. The Easter celebration, overcoming national and state borders, spiritually unites millions of Christians living in different countries. This polyphonic earthly choir, together with the host of bodiless Heavenly Powers, gives praise to the Lord Jesus, who shed His Blood for all and redeemed the world with His life-giving price. This thanksgiving, year after year, century after century, millennium after millennium, sounds victoriously throughout the earth – it sounds despite any temptations, difficulties, and trials.
Representatives of the authorities were present at the moleben. Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, noted that one of the most significant Christian holidays is a demonstration of good over evil. The authorities have full mutual understanding with the church, which has one goal – the development, progress, and prosperity of our state.
