In Vitebsk, gifts were presented to the mother of the first child born in 2021

According to the head of the department, it is a long-standing tradition for the mother of the first baby born in the current year to be congratulated by the Minister of Health. "On January 1st alone, 101 children were born in Belarus - 55 girls and 46 boys. The very first one was Roman, born in Vitebsk," Dmitry Pinevich noted.

Gifts that will be useful for raising the baby were presented to the young parents from the head of state and the leadership of the Vitebsk region. Traditionally, a small football was presented by the Vitebsk football club.

Currently, the regional maternity hospital is operating as a COVID hospital. The young mother had previously been diagnosed with COVID-19, which is why she was under observation in Vitebsk. The girl has recovered, and the child has not fallen ill, despite the fact that the virus is transmitted to the baby in the vast majority of cases, the Minister of Health added.

The documents of the little Belarusian will state the date and time - 01.01.2021 and 0.01. In total, three children were born in the region overnight - 2 boys and 1 girl. The New Year's baby was named Roma, he weighs 3 kg 910 g, and his height is 53 cm. The boy's parents, Ivan and Diana Zhorov, live and work in Orsha, and this is their first child.

The young mother thanked the doctors and midwives for their help during the childbirth, noting that it went smoothly. "I feel good. We didn't expect our son to be born on January 1st; according to the plan, it was supposed to happen on January 3rd. Thank you for the attention from the medical staff and for organizing a celebration today," Diana noted.

The new father added that when he learned about his son's birth, he first cried with joy and then started calling his relatives. The New Year became a double celebration for the family.-0-
