The choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery will perform in Vitebsk
On July 9 at 19:00, the stage of the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will host a concert by the choir of the Sretensky Monastery of Moscow, led by Honored Artist of Russia Nikon ZHILA.
The male choir of the Sretensky Monastery is a truly unique phenomenon of modern choral art. The ensemble, possessing a magnificent and diverse repertoire, is an absolute professional and is distinguished by a performance style that allows the audience to hear and feel liturgical chants of different centuries, as well as popular folk and pop songs in a new way. However, spiritual compositions naturally hold the primary place in the ensemble's repertoire.
The performances of the Moscow Sretensky Choir are met with invariable success both in Russia and in many countries around the world. In 2007, the choir undertook a round-the-world concert tour: over several years, the ensemble has performed globally with tours in Paris, the Vatican, New York, Washington, Berlin, London, and even Sydney, Australia. The choir's concert programs have been heard in the best halls of over 35 countries worldwide (Library of Congress of the USA, Carnegie Hall, Royce Hall, and many others).
The touring choir consists of 24 soloists: these are graduates of leading Moscow music universities – the Moscow State Academy of Choral Art, the Moscow Conservatory, and the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.
Thanks to its extraordinary sound, unique performance style, soulfulness, and sincerity, the ensemble always captures the hearts of the audience.
Come and experience the amazing and extraordinarily rich, melodious, and extremely sincere sound!
