Construction of a new road to the Bilevo microdistrict is being completed in Vitebsk

Construction of a new road connecting Stroiteley Avenue with Korotkevich Street in the Bilevo microdistrict is nearing completion in Vitebsk.

The road will have three lanes in each direction, and public transport will run here. The length of the connecting highway will be about 900 meters. The outlines of a pedestrian and bicycle path are also visible; they will be separated by a green strip. The highway itself is almost completely asphalted.

Traffic is planned to open by the end of August or early September. "Greening is underway, and paths are being prepared for asphalt concrete laying. Specialists continue to install fences for retaining walls and facing them with parapet slabs," noted Andrey Shmavgonets, Deputy Director for Construction at Vitebskobselstroy.

The new road will make life easier for the residents of the 40,000-strong Bilevo. Currently, citizens get to the city center via Moskovsky Prospekt, which is congested during peak hours because it carries the main traffic flows. Construction of the road began in 2014, and after some time, work was halted due to lack of funding. The highway is included in the list of facilities for the regional "Dazhynki" (harvest festival).
