An exhibition of paintings by Vasily Peshkun and Anna Silivonchik will be held at the Vitebsk gallery "Stena"

В витебской галерее «Стена» пройдет выставка живописи Василия Пешкуна и Анны Силивончик

From July 10 to 31, the Vitebsk gallery "Stena" will host an exhibition of paintings by Vasily Peshkun and Anna Silivonchik titled "Mirrors". The exhibition opening will take place on July 10 at 5:00 PM (Lenina St. 16-2).

In any work of art, the viewer is primarily excited and touched when they find traits of themselves in it, a reflection of their views, judgments, and experiences. At the same time, the work of each artist is like a mirror, reflecting the inner world of the author, their character, hidden thoughts, and intimate feelings. And each painting, regardless of whether it is a landscape, a still life, an abstract or a narrative composition, is simultaneously a self-portrait of the person who created it and, at the same time, a kind of collective image, close, understandable, consonant, and recognizable to many.

The exhibition is interesting because it features works by artists who, despite being a married couple, are completely dissimilar in their creative work. Therefore, the exhibition will not disappoint lovers of realism, which they will find in the canvases of Vasily Peshkun, nor those who are interested in styles such as naive art, symbolism, and surrealism, the features of which can be observed in the works of Anna Silivonchik.

Indeed, if Vasily's creativity, through the prism of personal enthusiastic perception, poeticizing and framing the most mundane and banal things in gilded frames, nevertheless conveys the objective reality surrounding us, then in Anna's works, the viewer is presented with a fantastic, magical, topsy-turvy world of the Looking-Glass.

Two authors and two completely different views of life, different manners, themes, and plots. But if you look closer, you can hear that both painters are talking about the same thing, but each in their own language. Like birds in the morning, each in their own way, they sing praises to life in all its manifestations, rejoicing in every fair day and admiring the silvery grace of a cloudy day. The artists' works radiate summer warmth and an uplifted mood, delighting with a rainbow of colors and filling the space with cheerful sunbeams.
