In the Vitebsk region, 23 newborn babies were awarded the title of "Child of Peace"

В Витебской области 23 новорожденных малыша получили звание «Дитя мира»

Representatives of regional, district, and city organizations of the Belarusian Peace Foundation traditionally present the "Child of Peace" certificate to parents of newborns born on the International Day of Peace, as well as monetary awards from the Peace Fund's resources. This year, the largest number of certificates were issued in Vitebsk: on September 21, 9 babies were born here, all of them boys. This is quite symbolic, as they are the future defenders of peace. In the Orsha region, three girls were born, including little Miroslava Krivenkova. The young mother Marina (in the photo) named her daughter, whose name is so consonant with the holiday, without looking at the calendar of significant dates, but now considers such a choice a happy coincidence.

For some parents, the child of peace is their firstborn, for others – a new member of a large family. For example, for the Fedorov couple from Vitebsk, little Saveliy became their fourth child.

The award ceremony took place in Vitebsk as part of a meeting of representatives from Belarus, Russia, Japan, and Korea. Additionally, at the solemn assembly, at the initiative of guests from the Land of the Rising Sun, the sisterhood ceremonies "Belarus – Japan" and "Belarus – Russia" were held, symbolizing the unity of women from the three countries for the sake of peace. It is noteworthy that not only adults joined the initiative. The unusual ritual united the children's creative groups "Karamelka" (Vitebsk) and "Angels of Peace" (Moscow). On the same day, representatives of the Federation of Women "For World Peace" of Korea presented the "Ambassador for Peace" diplomas for active participation and development of the peace movement to the chairperson of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, Tatyana Tumanova, as well as to foundation activists Inna Khomutovskaya and Natalya Lepeshkina.

This year, the events of the "Child of Peace" campaign took place on the eve of Mother's Day, which is also symbolic. As Tatyana Tumanova emphasized, peace begins with the family, and the future of the nation is in the hands of mothers. Tatyana Vladimirovna also announced that this kind tradition of the Belarusian Peace Foundation will definitely continue – to support and popularize the value of the concepts of peace and family.
