In the Vitebsk region, 44% of car owners used the right to exemption from the transport tax
In the Vitebsk region, 44% of the total number of car owners have exercised their right to exemption from paying the transport tax, the press center of the regional tax inspectorate reported.
In the Vitebsk region, work has been completed to clarify data on objects and individuals - payers of the transport fee. According to preliminary data, there are about 192,000 car owners registered in total. They own approximately 215,000 vehicles recognized as objects of taxation for the transport tax. At the same time, the expected amount of revenue from this payment from 107,000 citizens will exceed Br3.8 million.
85,000 people exercised their right to exemption from paying the transport tax in 2021. These are mainly owners of vehicles for which the validity period of the permit for participation in road traffic with payment of state duty has not expired, as well as those deregistered before July 1, 2021.
The regional tax inspectorate reminded that the payment of the transport tax by individuals is made on the basis of a notice from the tax authority. Citizens who own vehicles that are objects of taxation for the transport tax must pay an advance payment of one base amount no later than December 15, 2021, and for a trailer, caravan, and motorcycle - Br20 for each object of taxation. Notices for such payments will be sent by the tax authorities no later than November 1, 2021.
At the same time, for citizens who have access to the "Personal Account," such notices will be sent only in electronic form without duplication on paper and sending by mail. If a taxpayer, being a user of the electronic service, does not use its capabilities, it is recommended to contact the tax authority to receive the notice by mail.
