In the Vitebsk region, 9 private carriers intend to operate on intercity routes

Nine private carriers have applied to the Vitebsk Regional Communal Transport Unitary Enterprise "Carrier Operator" with applications to transition to a legal operating mode under regular transportation conditions. This was reported by the enterprise.

State Enterprise "Carrier Operator" is the state regulator of the transport services market. According to clarified data available at the enterprise, over 120 minibuses were involved in intercity passenger transportation in the Vitebsk region until recently. As of March 14, 9 carriers applied to the enterprise regarding the conclusion of regularity agreements for 22 minibuses.

Some carriers are already operating under the rules of the updated law on transport and road transport. For example, in the first week of March, private buses began operating on the Vitebsk - Polotsk - Novopolotsk - Minsk route under legal conditions. Within a few days, buses from another Vitebsk carrier will start operating on the Vitebsk - Minsk route on a legal basis. At the same time, some minibus owners operating on the popular Polotsk - Minsk and Vitebsk - Minsk routes have registered with the capital's state carrier operator and continue to operate on their routes.

Regarding the applications currently being reviewed by SE "Carrier Operator", these concern the routes Miory - Vitebsk, Braslav - Vitebsk, Postavy - Minsk, Novolukoml - Vitebsk, Orsha - Vitebsk, etc. While the applications are under review, the carriers continue to operate as before.
