The third working semester will be launched in the Vitebsk region
More than 100 representatives of the student squad movement of the Vitebsk region will take part in the solemn opening of the third labor semester-2017 today, the regional committee of the BRSM reported.
The official start of the third labor semester will gather commanders, commissars, fighters of student squads, veterans of the movement from all over the region on Victory Square. Attaching a red-green ribbon with apple blossoms to the lapel of student squad jackets, the fighters will join the patriotic campaign "Flowers of the Great Victory" and lay flowers at the Eternal Flame of the memorial complex. Representatives of executive authorities, the regional committee of the BRSM, delegations from regions, representatives of educational institutions, student and working youth, and creative groups will also take part in the ceremony. The main event will be the traditional presentation of vouchers for work in student squads this year. "The labor of the youth of the Vitebsk region will be invested in the construction, reconstruction, and improvement of facilities not only in the region but also beyond its borders. Student squads will help with the harvest, care for forest crops, and work as counselors and educators," the regional committee of the youth union noted.
In total, in 2017, it is planned to involve more than 10,000 people in student squads (construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental, service, medical), with about 200 young people going outside the republic, namely to the Russian Federation.
