"Psoriasis Schools" will be organized in the Vitebsk region
World Psoriasis Day, dedicated to this rather common skin disease, is celebrated on October 29. This problem is also relevant for our region – 3% of the population suffers from psoriasis, including severe forms. In this regard, the regional dermatovenerological dispensary is holding an event – "Psoriasis Day". As part of this event, a "Psoriasis School" will be organized on October 29 for people suffering from this ailment and registered with the dispensary. "Leading specialists will give thematic lectures and participate in a "round table" "so that patients can ask all their questions. Similar events will also be held in district centers.
Throughout the day, highly qualified specialists will be available at the VOKKVD. Patients from remote districts – Dokshitsky, Dubrovensky, Braslavsky – where dermatovenerologists are temporarily unavailable, will be seen without referrals. You can also ask questions to Vitebsk doctors by calling the "helpline" "(8 0212) 48 8142 or on the website www.vokvd.vitebsk.by. In addition, teleconsultations will be provided, allowing rural residents to receive specialist assistance without traveling to the regional center.
Medical professionals are once again drawing attention to the problem of the disease and the importance of early-stage treatment. Psoriasis most often occurs before the age of 30, but it can sometimes appear in infants and the elderly. Specialists state that patients with mild forms of the disease often seek dermatologists late, engage in self-treatment, which leads to an increase in severe forms resistant to traditional therapy, the development of complications affecting joints and internal organs, and can result in disability.
